Supreme Court of India Recruitment 2026: The Supreme Court of India has announced 22 vacancies for Assistant Editor, Assistant Director, Senior Court Assistant, and Assistant Librarian positions in its Registry. A total of 22 posts have been announced:
- Assistant Editor, Supreme Court Reports – 5 posts (UR)
- Assistant Director (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum – 1 post (UR)
- Senior Court Assistant (Ex-cadre), Supreme Court Museum – 2 posts (UR)
- Assistant Librarian – 14 posts (UR–10, SC–3, ST–1)
All posts carry attractive pay as per the Pay Matrix, along with other allowances.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Assistant Editor
- Age: 30 to 40 years
- Qualification: Law degree recognized by the Bar Council of India / Member of the English Bar / Attorney of the High Court
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as an advocate, Judicial Officer, Law Researcher, Lecturer in Law, Law Reporter, or relevant court service
- Computer knowledge required
2. Assistant Director (Museum)
- Age: 30 to 40 years
- Qualification: Master’s Degree in Museology (First Class)
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of research experience in a reputed museum
- Computer knowledge required
3. Senior Court Assistant (Museum)
- Upper Age: 35 years
- Qualification: Master’s Degree in Museology (minimum 55% marks)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in Museology research or museum work
- Computer knowledge required
4. Assistant Librarian
- Upper Age: 30 years
- Qualification: Degree in Library Science + Diploma in Computer Application or Library Automation Course
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in a recognized university or law library
Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per the government rules.
Supreme Court of India Recruitment 2026: Selection Procedure
The selection process includes:
- Written Test (objective and descriptive questions)
- Computer Test (for some posts, qualifying in nature)
- Interview
Candidates will be shortlisted based on written test performance. The final choice will depend on how well each of the necessary phases is performed.

- ₹750 for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen/Differently Abled/Dependent of Freedom Fighters
