Educational Qualification

For Level-2, the 50% requirement is not insisted upon for SC, ST, ESM and PwBD candidates, as well as candidates possessing a higher qualification from a UGC-recognised university. The notification also states that a Diploma in Engineering cannot be treated as an alternative qualification under the 10th + NAC/ITI provision.

South Eastern Railway Scouts & Guides Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
- Written Examination: Eligible candidates will be called for the written test. The exam carries 60 marks and includes 40 objective questions and one essay-type question. Candidates must secure at least 40% marks to qualify. There is also negative marking of one-third of the marks allotted to an objective question for every wrong answer.
- Scouts & Guides Certificate Marks: Candidates can receive up to 40 marks based on their Scouts & Guides activities and certificates, including participation in National, State and District events and specialised courses.
- Certificate Verification: Candidates up to five times the number of vacancies, in order of merit and meeting the minimum written-test qualification, will be called for verification of their certificates.
- Medical Examination: Candidates recommended after the written test and certificate assessment will be sent for medical examination in merit order. They must be declared medically fit in the prescribed medical category.
- Final Selection: Overall merit is assessed using the written-test marks and Scouts & Guides certificate marks, followed by the required medical and document verification formalities.
