The selection process consists of a Written Test and Practical Demonstration.

The written test will consist of objective-type questions. Candidates up to five times the number of vacancies, may be called for the practical trial, subject to securing the prescribed minimum passing marks.
For the practical assessment, candidates will be evaluated on their talent in the relevant cultural field. For the Percussionist post, candidates having proficiency in Punjabi Folk Dhol will be given preference.
